Katie Stanford | Certified Instructor
At a young age, Katie had a passion for movement. She began dancing at the age of 2. As she grew up she was involved in gymnastics, cheerleading, and sports. Eventually, time caught up with her and she realized she couldn’t do it all, so she danced. Katie was a member of the award winning PDHS dance team. After 4 years on the varsity dance team and 2 years as a captain, she began to enjoy the leadership role.
When Katie moved to Boulder, Co. for college, she enrolled in the teaching assistant program for fitness. She studied with ACE for 4 years in group fitness and personal training, although her love was getting in front of a class and working hard.
While in Boulder, Katie started taking yoga with Richard Freeman at the Yoga Workshop. Yoga became an outlet for her while studying and she has continued to practice. Since then she has trained with teachers such as Shiva Rea, Twee Merrigan, and Tamara Pascoe.
After 6 years of work in the fitness industry, she found her love of Pilates. She started teaching Pilates 3 years ago after obtaining her certification with Stott. She took her certification and pack her bags to move to Australia. Although she enjoyed the beaches, she worked on building the Pilates program for 2 physiotherapist practices. She taught rehabilitation exercise, as well as conducted workshops on the importance of Pilates, the pelvic floor, and structural importance of the body.
She recently returned home and looks forward to working with you.
