Jasmine Sharp

Born and raised in Northern California, Jasmine Sharp, was destined to become a cowgirl or athlete. Sharp's parents raised her in her their hometown of Oakdale, which is known for breeding rodeo champions and professional athletes. Growing up Sharp stood the tallest in her class, proving gymnastics and ballet from age five to twelve does not always stunt one's growth. By the time high school commenced Sharp stood at a long and lean 5'10" primarily focusing on the sports where her height gave her an advantage. Her stature helped her excel in volleyball, basketball and swimming.

After high school Sharp attended San Diego State University, studying Communication, Advertising and Spanish. Throughout college she continued to play volleyball and began practicing ballet bar work which was a catalyst for her to take on new challenges. SDSU offered new exercise courses which was a perfect transition for Sharp. She began surfing, weight training and kickboxing which she maintained until graduation.

Before moving to the Desert in 2003 Sharp started practicing Bikram's Yoga religiously, appreciating the results the 108 degree temperature and 90 minute classes were having on her body.

Surpassing personal fitness goals was very satisfying for Sharp, however, it was becoming a Drill Instructor for Balanced Training Boot Camp that made Sharp realize what is truly rewarding; training other people to reach their health and fitness goals. Sharp was able to utilize and incorporate her past training experiences to push her recruits to the next level and exceed that dreaded "plateau."

Sharp's passion for training others has taken her to Pilates Plus Palm Springs where she trains clients in group classes as well as one on one training. The studio trains with the Systeme Dynamique, designed to strengthen, tighten, and tone the body. The Systeme is largely based on the holistic principles of Pilates but also emphasizes the strength training and cardio elements of circuit training to achieve muscle definition faster than traditional Pilates and/or weight training alone. The composition of this method is significant in that it encourages maximum exertion while promoting flexibility and elasticity with low risk of injury.

As of January 2008, Sharp will be certified as a Zumba instructor, ZUMBA is a fusion of Latin and International music and dance, featuring aerobic/fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body. Zumba utilizes the principles of fitness interval training and resistance training to maximize caloric output, fat burning and total body toning. It is a mixture of body sculpting movements with easy to follow dance steps.

Sharp is an active member of IDEA, the International Association of Fitness Professionals and is certified with the American Heart Association in Heartsaver AED. She is studying and preparing to sit for a national Group Fitness Instructor exam with ACE, the American Council of Exercise while continuing her career in Commercial Real Estate with Sharp Investments.
